Hazards in the workplace are the responsibility of two parties within the working environment: the employer and the employee. The employer must recognise potential dangers and, if possible, remove or limit them. Furthermore, he has to inform the employees about dangers by providing instructions or notices, the necessary aid and protection. The employee must report hazards when he sees them, notice information on safety and make use of the safety measures provided. This is controlled by national regulations and standardized in accordance with European harmonisation.
