Suddenly there was a loud bang and the fuselage filled with condensation mist. The left cockpit windscreen was blown out. The decompression pulled the captain out from under his seatbelt. Despite trying to hold onto the yoke, the captain was sucked out into the opening and the flight deck door had been blown onto the flight deck where it lay across the radio and navigation console. A flight attendant rushed onto the flight deck and grasped the commander round his waist. The purser meanwhile removed the debris of the door and stowed it in the forward toilet.
